Training:

The Smith Family

We work closely with Bruce, Dawn and Denim Smith of Lone Cedar Stables in Hannibal for our training needs. At Lone Cedar the young horses get a balanced education in manners, riding basics, and an introduction to cattle. Special attention is paid to feet and legs, so that young horses will have a long sound lifetime ahead of them. Lone Cedar is known for high quality roping horses and barrel horses, particularly for youth competitors. After 30-60 days, our young horses come back home to Bee Creek and are ridden out on the farm, on trails and in the arena. They are also hauled to events and shows, even if they don't participate, so that they learn how to behave. As the horses mature, they return to Lone Cedar for tune-ups and roping training, making them versatile athletes and well suited to all types of ranch and cattle work.
